Welcome to my new blog where I will share all kinds of awesome travel adventures and tips as well as cool photography from my adventures around the world.
To start off with an unforgettable adventure, I will tell you all the story about when I got lost in Paris.
So, I had spent the majority of my day in Disneyland Paris.
After a long and exhausting day in the park, I was to go back to Paris from Disneyland, and later meet my church sisters at their home on the outside of central Paris.
Well, I thought it would be a good idea to get off at one of the Pyramides stop and explore. To say that was a bad idea is nothing.
After I get off the metro, I realise I had no phone charge, charger or paper map. That’s when I started to freak out. Then I randomly came to the conclusion that I just had to find the next metro station, McDonald’s or the Eiffel Tower then I would know where I was.
It did not work as easy as I thought. I could not find the next station, I could not see a McDonald’s and the Eiffel Tower was nowhere near close (I realised later the Eiffel Tower was on the other side of the river). After 10 minutes walking, saw the opera house and thought it would be a good idea to turn left onto another big street.
And I am glad I turned, though at the moment I didn’t think so. I was exhausted from walking around Disneyland all day and was super hungry. After walking a couple of more minutes I find some gardens. There was were I found the best view of all: that of the Eiffel Tower.
I finally found was I was looking for in the best lighting ever. Sunset in Paris is gorgeous! After enjoying the view for a good chunk of time, I went on the search for a map since I still didn’t have any charge on my phone. I found a tour operator store by a miracle of Jesus Christ, and was able to get back to the metro, which was only like a block away. Once I was back on the metro and changing trains 5 times I finally made it to the station near my sisters’ house, and went to the McDonald’s I had discovered a few days before and was able to charge the phone for a few minutes and contact one d my sisters to get into the house.
And that is the story of how I got lost in Paris in 2017.
Moral of the story: always have a map with you! And have a portable battery for when your phone is out of charge.
I hope you all enjoyed my adventure. This is just one of the many I experienced during my year in the UK.
All the love,
