How did I get myself into this!
Starting in September 2019, I will be starting my PhD via distance learning from the USA. Let’s rewind actually. I have been offered a position in the Hispanic Studies PhD program at the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom. I was originally going to move to the UK to complete my PhD, however due to extenuating circumstances I will complete it from my home in the USA.
With that information in mind, I will also be working full time in a travel agency while I complete my studies. These next 3 years will be the most challenging I will ever experience in my life. I will be studying full time and working full time. I thank God my job is not too demanding and pretty flexible. They are understanding and caring.
So, what am I going to do?
For this to work out, I will have to schedule and organize everything very clearly, and make sure I do not procrastinate. I can be the queen of procrastination and still do good in school, however, that is not going to fly with a PhD. These are new heights I am reaching, and procrastinating and feeling the high of working last minute won’t work out. So, I will be scheduling my life like a crazy person. This is how it will look like:.
As you can tell, I like color coding everything, and organize my life ( my room might not look it, but I promise I am organized). I am also very devoted to my church, and I am very active in it. So, that means even more planning and organization. However, I don’t know how I am going to find time to go to Disney or watch a movie. I was thinking Tuesday afternoons when I don’t have midweek since it is every other week.
So, I do not start my PhD until the end of September when I have to go to Birmingham for induction. That means that for the mean time I will be doing a lot of reading and setting up my brain for the next 3 years.
That’s it y’all!
If you have any questions as to how I made my schedule don’t forget to contact me! I am here to help y’all!!
All the Love,
